Het bedrijf richt zich op de zakelijk markt. Ondanks dat Nokian Tyres op verschillende sectoren actief is zijn ze de specialist in winter banden en speciale zware bedrijfswagenbanden. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Het hoofdkantoor is gevestigd in Nokia, Finland, en produceert banden voor auto&#8217;s, vrachtwagens, bussen en zwaar materieel. Bekend om zijn winterbanden, is Nokian de enige bandenfabrikant met een eigen permanente testfaciliteit voor winterbanden ter wereld. De merknaam Hakkapeliitta van het bedrijf wordt in Finland erkend als een gerenommeerd handelsmerk.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">De geschiedenis van het bedrijf gaat terug tot een in 1865 opgerichte grondhoutpulpfabriek. De productie van autobanden begon in 1932 door Suomen Gummitehdas Oy (Finnish Rubber Works Ltd).
